• Teachers and education support staff who apply to or work with us
• School staff who use our school portal
• Referees who give a professional reference
• Anyone who visits our website or contacts us

What we collect

We only collect what we need to verify, place and pay educators and to serve schools. Depending on who you are, this may include:

• Identity and contact details: name, email, phone, address, date of birth
• Professional details: VIT registration or ES qualifications, work history, subjects and year levels
• Compliance information: Working with Children Check, right-to-work evidence, child safety declarations
• References: referee details and the reference they provide
• Payroll details: tax file number declaration, superannuation and bank details (handled by our payroll provider)
• Shift and attendance records, including optional check-in location while the app is open
• School details: school, campus, staff contacts, billing and purchase order information
• Website and app usage information, such as device type and pages visited

Sensitive information

Some information we collect, such as criminal history checks contained in a Working with Children Check, is sensitive information under the Privacy Act. We only collect it with your consent and where it is reasonably necessary to assess suitability to work with children.

How we use it

• Verifying identity, registration, right to work and suitability to work with children
• Collecting and reviewing professional references
• Matching educators with suitable shifts, and showing schools an educator's verified status
• Recording attendance, paying educators and invoicing schools
• Meeting our legal obligations, including child safety, employment and tax obligations
• Responding to enquiries, providing support and improving our services

What schools see

Schools see an educator's name, role, relevant experience and verified badges. They do not see identity documents, compliance documents, references or payroll details.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only as needed to provide our services, with:

• Schools you are booked with (limited profile information only)
• Service providers that help us operate, such as hosting, email, SMS, maps, payroll and payments providers
• Government bodies where required to verify a check or where required or authorised by law
• Professional advisers such as lawyers and accountants

Where it is stored

Our platform is hosted in Australia. Some service providers may process limited information overseas; where they do, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with the APPs.

Security and retention

We protect personal information with encryption, access controls, audit logging and multi-factor authentication for staff. We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above and to meet legal record-keeping requirements, then securely destroy or de-identify it.

Access and correction

You can ask to access or correct the personal information we hold about you by emailing privacy@irecruitteams.com. We will respond within 30 days.

Complaints

If you have a privacy concern, contact us at privacy@irecruitteams.com. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

Data breaches

If a data breach is likely to result in serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the OAIC in line with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
